Enomoti

The term enomotiai derives from ancient Greek, where it means squad, or band of sworn soldiers. The word originates from enomotos, which means 'bound by oath'. The basic element of the Spartan army was an enomotiai (platoon) of 32 men. Four of these made up a company of 128 men. Four of these made up a regiment of 512 men. Etc etc etc.
