Homios

The Greek word homoios is used to express similarity or likeness between two or more entities. Homo is a Latin word that means man, or human being. When used as a prefix, as in homosexual, it comes from the Greek word homos, meaning 'one with' and therefore the same. Some people use the word homo as a derogatory term for a gay man.
